Non Toxic: Travel Edition
Non Toxic Travel
Tried and true travel products: NON TOXIC EDITION
Okkkkkkkk… Sooo we booked a week long vacation to DISNEY WORLD!! And YES… I’M YELLING BECAUSE I’M SO DANG EXCITED!!
I will do a post dedicated to all the foodie tips I can get my paws on and where to get gluten free, dairy free and even vegan faring food. But this post isn’t that post.
This is what the heck to pack that gets you looking and feeling fresh while not jacking up your hormones.
We first announced our baby making woes on a trip to Disneyland. Then after months of trying, having a miscarriage and feeling down in the dumps, we went back to Disneyland to just appreciate the family that we have created… US.
Now that #OperationKnockedUp was a success we’re going to Disney World for a mini Baby Moon vacay, since I swear everywhere else I’d want to go has the Zika virus.
Here’s my hormone safe round-up
Underarm Deodorant Wipes
These are super easy on the go, They’re non toxic, safe for your boobies, since your lymph nodes are right there and they smell amazing. They’re also not irritating, paraben free and free of aluminum.
I also love the Doterra deodorant. They don’t make it easy to buy so feel free to DM me if you want it. Next I’d recommend NATIVE.
I always do an armpit detox the night before I fly. I use this detox powder for 3 bucks, mix it with apple cider vinegar and coat my lovely pits with it overnight. I swear I’m smell free for a couple of days, even without deodorant.
This is one of my non negotiables on non toxic personal care stuff. There’s so much research connecting the garbage in normal deodorant to breast cancer and hormone disrupting.
I snagged a few of the Holiday traveling kits from Beautycounter. Here’s the lowdown on what’s inside.
Travel Body Essentials includes:
Body Wash in Citrus Mimosa: Creamy citrus-scented cleanser. It has marula and mongongo oil that are awesome at keeping the skin soft and hydrated. Less important while I’m in Florida but vital while living in the the deserts of Utah.
Hydrating Body Lotion in Citrus Mimosa: This is the second most important thing that I swapped out. Your skin is an organ that absorbs up anything you put on it. Since you’re rubbing lotion all over it, it’s uber important to make sure it’s not effing up your hormones, causing all those nasty hormone related issues. It’s super lightweight and instantly drenches my skin marula and mongongo oils plus shea and jojoba butters.
Hand Cream in Citrus Mimosa: I carry this in my fanny pack. This one by Fawn Design is just the cutest. Now back to the lotion because everyone always asks me about it’s texture. It’s fast-absorbing and non-greasy, it has aloe, calendula and chamomile plus antioxidant vitamin E.
Citrus Mimosa Body Bar: It’s a super gentle soap that has loads of antioxidants and plant-based moisturizing agents. I keep it in a mini stasher bag to keep it from getting everywhere.
Traveling Cleansing Balm
I’m like a broken record here but the Cleansing Balm is the best cleanser I’ve ever used. It’s part nourishing daily cleanser, part gentle makeup-melting balm and part replenishing overnight mask. It has tons of skin foods like raspberry and cranberry seed oils help provide lasting moisture, while antioxidant vitamin C helps protect against free radicals.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
Deemed as a mask for your voyage on a plane, this stuff is legit. It helps with dry skin from traveling but also from the drying effects of a winter wonderland. My lips are the first thing to dry out so I make sure to put some on my lips as well. It doubles as a good under eye cream when I want to keep my packing products to a min.
Traveling facial oils
Oils are my homies. This kit Glow & Go Mini Oils has a skin brightening to replace the pregnancy glow that hasn’t come yet, a balancing one to aid in the acne that my hormones have bestowed upon me and one to plump up my skin. I’m telling you, honing in on my skin care is so needed during pregnancy. I feel like my skin has been taken over and I’m doing ALL THE THINGS to keep it on its best behavior. I also use the Countermatch and right now they have a little travel set for the Holidays that I made sure to snag for my trip. It’s good for those unfortunate people like me who worry about acne and wrinkles. Insert eye roll here.
Sunblock
The anti aging secret I wish I would have known as a kid. I love the sun but let’s be real, the wrinkles it causes aren’t that great. I use Dew Skin for a daily facial sunblock that has the prettiest tint and makes my skin look dewy and then I use this sunblock for everywhere else the sun shines. This is a must have when standing in lines for hours for… tasty snacks of course. ;-) Okay and also for rides. It protects against UVA, UVB and the blue light currently hitting me up as I type this up on my computer.
It’s non toxic, blue tinted which gives it this really pretty sheen and it doesn’t feel sunblock-esque. You know what I mean, that super thick, skin clogging feeling. I also love the smell of it! You can read my full blawgy blawg post on chemical free sunblock here.
Perfume
This one is more for Mark than myself. I spent years smelly using natural deodorants before they were any good. I also don’t mine not washing my hair for days but Mark probably doesn’t appreciate it quite as much. My act of service for him was starting to use this non toxic, essential oil based perfume and he LOVES it. Okay I love it too now! I use this roller ball one and always keep it in my purse but then for home I have the original gangsta.
Foreo
This little vibrating facial thingy majingy is tiny but I love the way it feels. I use it for lymphatic drainage, facial cleansing and well that’s about it. It helps your creams get in deeper and your face get cleaner and I’m all about that life. I use it with the countermatch creamy cleanser in the morning and then I use the Cleansing Balm at night.
Lips
The one in the picture is called Transforming Duo and I love how it makes my lips feel and the perfect pink it is but sadly it’s totally sold out. Here’s another non toxic lipgloss set I’ve been loving! For me this is another non negotiable since I kiss my husband with these lips and I tend to lick them as well. I don’t want to pass on or swallow anything that could harm us. This will be even more important when I want to gobble up the cheeks of my baby!!
This lip conditioner is also one of my favs and one that Mark doesn’t mind sharing.
Hair
If it’s a short trip I pack this dry shampoo that is made for brunettes but she also creates ones for those with lighter locks. I love supporting female entrepreaneour so make sure to check out her etsy shop! I also use her makeup brush cleaner and the armpit detox I linked above. For Disney World however, we’re going to be there for a week so I’m also packing this Travel Shampoo & Conditioner. I don’t use any other products but if you have recommendations that I should share, make sure to link them in my comments section.
Sexy Time Stuff
Yep I’m going there. Mark and I use these travel coconut oil packets for my Coco’s Collagen Latte. We just snag a coconut milk steamer from Starbucks, add a packet of collagen, a packet of coconut oil and I few squirts of coconut flavored stevia. It’s amazing. Buttttt we also use those coconut oil packets as lube. It’s safe for your va jay jay and for your latte. I mean it’s a win-win.
Since Mark went to the Dominican Republic we have to use good old fashion condoms. I ordered some non toxic ones from this company. I hear condoms aren’t that great though soooo we shall see. However, it beats getting Zika and a small headed baby!! Ohhhh and I also added their post play pH balancing wipes to my cart.
That my friends is my Non Toxic Travel roundup! What products do I need to add to the list?!
Also any and all Disney World recommendations are welcome!
As always thanks for visiting my little space online
I just love your guts!!
