Happy Galentines Day!!
“What's Galentine's Day? Oh, it's only the best day of the year,” — Leslie Knope
Self love his the new “IT” relationship of 2020. Here are some do-it-yourself recipes for the girl who loves herself.
It’s February 13 aka Galentines Day so me and my mini are soaking up some cuddles!! She’s 8 months already, has 6 teeth, stands on her own, sticks out her tongue to be funny, is a total mamas girl and I’m lucky enough to be her Galentine!!
For all of you worried about me dipping Coco in essential oils, don’t fret, we bathed her before I soaked in these valentine pink inspired bath salts because our little peanut def does not need to detox. If you want to know all the baby goodies we use for Coco’s bathtime then click the pink link.
Valentines Day has totally been commercialized and I’m HERE FOR IT! A day of self care, chocolate and love? What’s to hate?! When it comes to self care I’m all about beauty with benefits. This salt scrub recipe helps slough away dead skin, detoxify, brighten and give you a glow. It is soooo much cheaper to DIY and I’ll tell you what, your girl here normally isn’t the DIY type but more the Amazon Prime type and I think making my own scrubs is easy peasy but if you still wanna prime I got you covered with my favorite non toxic scrubs.

5 drops Lavender Oil

Pour the salt into a ceramic or glass bowl
Drizzle the almond carrier oil over the salt, 1 teaspoon at a time, mixing after each drizzle to prevent clumping.
Add the lemon, rose and lavender oils one at a time and mix well
Store the salts in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
Add up to one cup to running bath water.
Citrus Salt Scrub
Goods To Get:
1 cup coconut oil, I also love jojoba seed oil and almond oil.
2 cups salt/sugar scrubbers (I used 1 cup unscented epsom salt, 1/2 cup unrefined sea salt and 1/2 cup organic raw sugar. You can use any combination of these, or just one by itself. Make sure to use organic so that you aren’t rubbing glyphosate and other toxins into the skin.
10+ drops of your favorite essential oil… i gotta be straight with ya.. I definitely used at least 20 drops because I’m a more is more type of person.
I can’t get enough of Citrus Bliss. It’s a seasonal blend so when they have it you want to stock up! I recommend getting a membership for $35 then you get wholesale plus you’ll accrue points to get products for FREE I also love the doing 5-10 DROPS WILD ORANGE + 5 GRAPEFRUIT + 5 GINGER but if I want a before bed blend, I use LAVENDAR + ADAPTIV & that helps me unwind.
2 tablespoons raw honey (we added honey because of its outstanding health benefits, if you’re vegan feel free to omit this step)
Directions
Set the coconut oil in a warm area where it can melt naturally, or use a ceramic pot on the stove over gentle heat. It's better to use non-metal bowls because it can be reactive to certain materials thereby reducing efficacy.
Add honey and mix.
Add the salt/sugar scrubbers and stir until well blended.
Add essential oil drops and mix. Test to see if the smell is strong enough. If not, add more.
Transfer to a non-metal container with a lid, and get busy self careing.
Product Perks:
COCONUT OIL is the duct tape of my house. We use it for EVERYTHING. Cooking? Of course! Body lotion? Duh! Lube? Yasss!!It helps nourish and protect the entire body with its medium-chain triglycerides, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. It is noteworthy that coconut oil was active against species of Candida
RAW HONEY is known to heal a plethora of ailments, and is also anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal.
EPSOM SALT is magnesium, an essential mineral for your body. Many people are deficient in magnesium which can cause insomnia and other health problems. Some claim that topical magnesium can help with muscle soreness but as of now science doesn’t support that but I still love the way I feel after using it!
REAL SALT contains a host of trace minerals that fill gaps in the immune system. Through osmosis, toxins are released from the body into the bath water, while trace minerals from the sea salt are absorbed through the skin
ESSENTIAL OILS are useful in healing and preventing skin issues. I use them for the smell & mood boosting abilities.
PROMOTES - Relaxation, reduced stress, enhanced circulation, increased detoxification and helps reduce inflammation!
CONTAINS NO: Additives, toxins or preservatives.
I have today all planned out but have literally NOTHING planned for Valentines Day! Other than dinner and a movie, what is there to do?! If there was such a thing as a creativity bone.. mine is broken. Probably even worse than broken, I don’t currently have one. Soooo if you have any bright ideas, help your girl out!! Have a fabulous Galentines and Valentines Day! Know that you are loved with or without a significant other!!
